We are making some schedule changes effective Nov. 1.All morning classes on Tuesday and Thursday will be canceled (Tai Chi and Empower Yoga).
Also, our community free yoga class on Sundays at 4:30 p.m. will be coming to an end. The last class will be this Sunday, Oct. 27 with our guest teacher, Lacey Ingrao.
We have offered a free class for more than three years. It has been a pleasure to serve the community and roll out the welcome mat for neighbors to explore yoga.
We will continue to serve our mission with our donation-based classes. Anyone is welcome at Just B Yoga any time under any circumstances.
These schedule changes will help us keep our focus on our mission and keep costs low. We apologize for any inconvenience the schedule changes impose. And we hope you will continue to support Just B Yoga and explore your practice with us.

I am saddened that you will no longer be offering a “free” class. It was the free class that got my practice started. It is what brought me to the mat. If it were not for the free class, I would not have become an RYT200. I would not be teaching yoga across the community to old and young alike. I know it has to be some type of burden or else you wouldn’t decide to end it. I only ask that you reconsider the importance of the free class. If it were not for the free class at least 50-75 people would not know yoga today because I would have never found my practice without you! What about all the others? Thousands had to have been touched, seriously thousands. I know your mind is made up or you wouldn’t publish but please give it a second thought. I know it won’t change but thank you for listening and being my yogi.
Dave,
I’m sorry that you’re saddened by this. And I hope you will continue to come to Just B Yoga.
We meditated on this move quite a bit. We don’t want to close doors to practice. Our whole mission is to open doors to practice for people who may never have started a yoga practice.
We want to eliminate cost as a factor as well as accessibility.
We have lots of classes on our schedule and are open seven days a week as a DONATION-BASED yoga studio.
We are the only donation-based studio in the city.
You can come to any of our classes without paying a dime if you needed or wanted to.
The free class was something we had to let go of because of time (I teach a lot of classes) and resources.
Utilities, rent, insurance, bolsters, mats, blocks, water, computers…it all adds up.
We feel we are still offering our students opportunities to practice within their budgets while honoring financial responsibilities.
We are committed to Lansing and we want to be here for years to come.
We have 40% of our students paying our suggested donation of $8 per class and 30% pay more than that. Almost 15% pay something.
We have 19% who pay nothing.

Just B Yoga tries to represent practice and mindfulness in our mission and our actions. We don’t believe we’ve closed the door to anyone in the community by ending the “free” class.
I hope you understand where we’re coming from.
